Michael Hirsch

Position: Research Scientist  Unit: Schölkopf

I am now working as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Astrophysics Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at University College London together with Sarah Bridle, though I'm still affiliated with the Empirical Inference group at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen, where I did my PhD under the supervision of Bernhard Schölkopf. My academic background is in physics and mathematics which I studied at the University of Erlangen and at Imperial College London.


I am interested in a wide range of signal and image processing problems in scientific imaging as well as computational photography. My particular interest is on physical modeling and the development of efficient and novel inference schemes for inverse problems. For more detailed information have a look at my personal webpage.
